John and Elizabeth Hamilton were both born and raised in Ithaca, New York.  They met and began their relationship at the local middle school, having first dated in eighth grade.  After High School, John and Elizabeth Traveled the country working in the restaurant industry and found themselves Attending the Famed Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York.

Both John and Elizabeth Received their Bachelor’s and Associates Degrees from the Culinary.  Elizabeth Majored in Baking and pastry Arts while John Majored Culinary Arts.

After Four years at the Culinary, John and Elizabeth Set off traveling the country, opening restaurants and consulting for other restaurants.  From the Hudson Valley to Sonoma County and Napa Valley they mastered their craft and worked for several world renowned Chefs.

With the experience and confidence needed, they returned home to renovate the site of their Marriage, the famous Rose Inn of Ithaca.  After fully rebuilding the Inn, Resurrecting the property and renovating the restaurant and cottage, they opened the John Joseph Inn and Elizabeth Restaurant in May of 2007.

Joined by their Two sons Hunter and Lawson, The Hamiltons are proud to have returned to their roots to settle and raise their family.
